Well, you need your kidneys to filter out contaminates and once kidneys start to fail they no longer clean out the body of these contaminates and it builds up.

Wonderfully, kidney failure do not have to lead to death, there are transplants. Please consider donation, we don't need our organs when we are dead, and they can give others life.
