Is there such a thing as having OCD but with time?

I'm obsessed with doing everything by the clock, waking up everyday at 8am, having breakfast, lunch and dinner at a certain time, going to the gym at a certain time, and if i dont do it on time or my sister comes over to see me and "disrupts" my routine i get extremly annoyed. I have about 13 alarms on my phone, is this OCD or am I going insane?
Answer:
It sounds like you have OCD. Anything that is an obsession or compulsion ( meaning you HAVE to do it ) is a symptom of OCD.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by recurrent, unwanted, disturbing thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive, ritualized behaviors that a person feels driven to perform (compulsions). Like a needle getting stuck on an old LP, OCD causes the brain to get stuck on a particular thought or action that it just can鈥檛 let go. People with OCD often say the symptoms feel like a case of mental hiccups that won鈥檛 go away.

compulsion is a repetitive behavior 鈥?a ritual 鈥?that a person feels driven to do and cannot seem to stop doing. Compulsions represent an attempt to manage an obsession by doing something to resolve it. For example, if someone is obsessed with being contaminated, that person might develop elaborate hand-washing rituals. If an obsessive worry is whether or not the door was locked, then a compulsive response might be to check the lock a certain number of times before leaving the house or going to bed.

The ritual is meant to bring relief from the anxiety caused by the obsession, though the ritual itself can cause anxiety if it becomes too demanding or time-consuming. Even if the ritual eases the discomfort caused by the obsession, it will probably return, and the person with OCD feels compelled to repeat the behaviors over and over again.

Some common compulsive behaviors are:

excessive double-checking
counting
hand washing
cleaning
ordering/arranging
touching
praying
hoarding

It IS treatable..either by a doctor, or using a book called
*Brain Lock*, which can work wonders.
What's key to overcoming your obsession is you telling yourself that it's not *you* doing these compulsions, but rather the compulsions taking over your life.

*It's not me.... it's the OCD*

You need to learn to manage the OCD, or it can take over your whole life.
Please see a doctor or talk to someone you trust.

I hope this helps....... and good luck !!
u can be obsessve compulsive about anything. there r a few common ones like closing doors etc but also more unusual ones like urs. alot more ppl have it than u think
Im not sure whats better, planning so much or not planning at all, in anycase i have no idea what OCD is, so i'll just go with the secound option :-)
